There have been several requests to port mpd 0.15.1 to an OpenWrt package for the WL-520gU. mpd 0.15 adds MMS support and a bunch of other stuff (http://sourceforge.net/project/shownote ... p_id=81117)
mpd 0.15.1 is the latest stable release of the Music Player Daemon (http://mpd.wikia.com/wiki/Music_Player_Daemon_Wiki) used in the Wifi Radio project and by Linux users everywhere.

Need volunteers to build pkg for mpd 0.15.1
Re: Need volunteers to build pkg for mpd 0.15.1
FYI: mpd 0.15.2 released (http://mpd.wikia.com/wiki/Music_Player_Daemon_Wiki)
mpc, 0.17 (http://www.musicpd.org/forum/index.php?topic=1955.0)

Re: Need volunteers to build pkg for mpd 0.15.1
Well, I got mpd 0.15.1 and mpc 0.16 building in the trunk branch.... however the asus router doesn't have enough memory to install all the extra libs and such. I'm trying to build it in the 8.09 branch and only updating those packages to the latest version.. hoping they don't rely that much on later versions that could take up more space. Might have to switch to a some USB storage or get a router with more memory if this doesn't work out.

Bummer. Any idea what is causing the bloat, and whether it can be stripped out?

IIRC, the bloat is the stdc++ (needed by libmms)
I use mpd/mpc on WGT634U (which has more memory); even though I did the libmms package, I personally have no need to do mms
for me, being able to use last.fm makes the upgrade worthwhile

btw:
- mpc 0.17 is avail. in trunk (kamikaze)
there is a bug in mpd 0.15.2 that causes stuttering audio - if someone really wanna try, the fix is in the trunk (http://git.musicpd.org/cgit/master/mpd. ... e2c475839f)
Re: Need volunteers to build pkg for mpd 0.15.1
Actually, I was able to fit mpd 0.15, mpc 0.17 and nfs client kernel modules from the trunk on my wl520gU - see viewtopic.php?f=2&t=80#p288
I disabled everything firewall/iptables and ppp related, as I don't use it as a router.
Would anybody be interested in my image and packages? Let me know, so I can look at sharing them somewhere...
