Re: Interfacing with Arduino Uno R3
Follow-up to the last two posts. I've got the Geiger Kit interfaced to an Arduino Due (actually a clone). Had to do some finagling with the code, and use hardware serial port #3 (no software serial available on the Due). Main problem was finding a usable library for the Nokia 5110 display, as the th...

Re: Interfacing with Arduino Uno R3
Continuing the previous post . . . As you can see from the pics, I keep the Mighty Ohm GC board in a "cream cheese storage container" ($1 at Big Lots). It isn't nearly as pretty as the plexiglass case, but it keeps it safe from the elements if I slap a strip of duct tape over the opening w...

Re: Interfacing with Arduino Uno R3
Thanks, tonyc, for the hookup schematic and for your sketch. Inspired by that, I built a dual-power (5 v. and 3.3 v.) switchable Hackduino. Running on 3.3 volt, I can directly wire it to the Mighty Ohm GC and do a direct hookup of a Nokia 5110 display. Sure, at 3.3 volts the ATMega 328 is running ou...

Kit built & working
I just finished the kit -- took my time with it because I didn't want any mistakes and because I wanted to slowly savor the sheer joy of building it. Put in the batteries and adjusted the voltage pot, and . . . beeps and flashes. So, what did I do right??? Some suggestions: * Add to the documentatio...

Re: FAQ: Test sources
Another good radioactive source: Certain of the "Quantum Scalar Energy Pendants" available on eBay and from various other sources. I got a "FusionExcel" model, complete with Authenticity Card for $6.99 (shipping included) on eBay a few months back. Close up to an SBM-20 tube it r...
