Cant get song title from mpc

Hi, I'm getting stuck on part 6, and am unable to retrieve the title and song name from any radio stations. Is the usb audio adapter required to see this information, as mine is still in the post?
I'm using an asus wl-520gu, with the serial port installed and functioning, and am able to ping google, download packages through opkg from this site etc, so I think the internet connection is working as it should. Anyone have any ideas on whats going wrong?
