Using the router as the audio source

Has anyone used the router to be the audio source for streaming?

Radio or scanner---->usb-sound card---->Openwrt---->Client(s)

I was thinking using ices and icecast. The problem is that while icecast exists as a package, ices is not included. I haven't quite grasped cross-compiling to build my own. Can anyone think of any other methods to use the router as an audio source?

Thanks

Mark

I have not tried this but I would love for someone to get it working. I have zero experience with icecast so sadly I can't help much. Compiling packages is doable but it's a big pain, at least it was last time I tried it a few months ago. :(

have a look here for remote controlled hamradio station including audio.

On version 1.1 you can see all routing through IP. I am planning to port this to WL500 router, hopefully it has
enought power to handli it.

Hi, that project is not mine, i just used it as inspiration.
I will use slightly different approach. I am trying to configure astrerisk ip pbx and small iax voip client on owrt.
Than you can connect several clients at the same time, can configure access rights for some clients to allow also transmitt etc.
Till now i have ready hamradio multi rotor control from web interface and some antenna switching. I did not touch audio yet.

Brano -

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that the project you posted was yours. :D

I'm really interested to see if you are able to get VOIP working in the WL-520gU. Please keep us posted with your progress.
