The original USB audio adapter price has gone up on NewEgg. Right now the Syba SD-CM-UAUD is now $10. + $3 for shipping.

There is a similar deluxe version made by Syba for the same price on NewEgg. It is called the SD-CM-UAUD71. They claim it has "Virtual 7.1 channel sound", but I think that is just a marketing gimmick.

Does anyone know whether the SD-CM-UAUD71 works or is any better than the original SYBA SD-CM-UAUD? I am asking because this is my first attempt to build this kind of project, and I want to get the basic hardware working before I start experimenting. The product description is so similar that I would expect it to work.
Thanks!
Lloyd

Creative has the SoundBlaster X-Fi Go, which is supposed to provide high-quality sound. Now I haven't tried this (At EUR 50 it's too expensive for this project), but I have owned several Creative products over the years, and they have always provided superb sound quality.

USB Audio Adapters for $4.

USB audio adapters with the same chipset as used in the original Mightyohm radio are now available on eBay for under $4., including shipping from China. You can find them with this search:

Much thanks to mtennant who found these inexpensive adapters on eBay. He says he ordered one of them and it works fine.
Shipping from China could take a month or more. I wouldn't want to bet much money on the reliability of any product that sells for $4., but for the price you can get two and keep one for a spare. If you choose an eBay seller with good feedback ratings, then I think you can be assured of getting what you order.

Thanks Lloyd. They do work well, at least in my setup.
They have four clickable buttons that I'd like to be able to put to use also.
If I could just figure out how to merge the ilinux 0.3 firmware with the one button Internet radio script.
