Re: Thank you Jeff! So excited.
samirsky, That is a very nice project. Congratulations! If I could make a suggestion, you might want to save the original electronics from that old radio. You can save all of it in a box in the attic in case you ever want to restore the old radio. I hate to say it, but in ten years we may be able to...

Re: My work, finaly done!
Very nicely done! That is a great example of combining new technology and old technology without destroying the vintage equipment. Since auxiliary inputs have a higher input impedance, you can usually connect a speaker (or headphone) output to an auxiliary input very easily. The voltage levels are u...

Re: USB-audio adapters known to work with OpenWrt/mpd
In reference to the post above by T-Jo about the Speelink Vigo, I wanted to find out if it uses the same chip as the other adapters that are known to work. I sent a message to Speed-link.com and asked them the question. Their reply says that the Vigo USB adapter uses the C-Media CM108 chip, so we sh...

Re: New WL520GU approach - building on the shoulders of gian
mtennant, Your $7. hub with looks interesting, but we won't know if it works unless someone orders one. I bought one of the $1.60 USB audio adapters on eBay and it didn't work; when I told the seller, he sent another one that also did not work. (The seller had good feedback ratings and I hesitate to...

Re: A non-USB router : Atmega + MP3 audio decoder ?
Sonny,
Your internet radio project is very interesting! Was it less expensive than building a radio based on router hardware? Do you plan to develop it into a project that someone else could copy? I hope you will let us know about your progress.

USB Audio Adapters for $4.
USB audio adapters with the same chipset as used in the original Mightyohm radio are now available on eBay for under $4., including shipping from China. You can find them with this search: http://desc.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=%22chipset+cm119%22&_sacat=58058&_odkw=%22chipset+cm119%22&_o...

Re: Looking for Larger Alphanumeric Display
Re: Looking for Larger Alphanumeric Display If I ever get around to it, my plan is to use a photoframe as a full-color, hi-res display for my mpd box (which is based on a WL-500G router), showing things like album art etc. Physically connecting a display isn't hard at all, since many of these frame...

Re: Looking for Larger Alphanumeric Display
Jeff, The Sure Electronics LED looks like it might work. But when you add up eight of those boards (to get 32 characters) and the "demo driver board", the total comes to around $75. Then after it is all assembled, it is not clear exactly what capabilities the display would have. (For examp...

Looking for Larger Alphanumeric Display
I would like to build a version of the MightyOhm radio in a larger box to match the style of the typical AM/FM receiver. I really want an alphanumeric display that is large enough to read from across the room, since most of the internet radio stations I listen to do not announce the track that is be...
