Thanks NelsonPJ, It turns out something strange is going on. If I do: iwconfig wl0 essid Myssid /etc/init.d/network restart .. it connects and works. However it does not allow me to ssh in for some reason. Not sure what to make of this, I guess I could put the above in a shell script and run it agai...
