Arduino Nano + USB Power pack goes radioactive-antique shopping
Hi everyone, I managed to assemble an arduino nano with a 3v3 TTL level shifter and 16x2 display. A USB battery powers the arduino which provides the 3.3v power to the geiger counter and reads the pulses and other info from the TTL serial link into the arduino which is then displayed. Just posted in another thread on this site that I had the same experience detecting presumably x-rays from a Sony Trinitron CRT. In other news, this is what the mighty on Geiger kit looks like with a really good dose of x-rays

My parents have an older 32" Sony Trinitron CRT in their guest room and it definitely made the this kit light up. It was about a year ago but recall it being at least 10x background when detected at an inch or 2. Interestingly, some parts of the screen were more active than others in sort of a ...
