Hello to the forums! I am very new here and I just recently put together my Geiger counter about two days ago and it works great! or at least i think it does, it's making a healthy amount of clicking that is near the average background radiation for my city.... ANYWAYS I'm going on a tangent! Is this geiger counter sensitive enough to pick up and monitor radon levels? I.E, would it be easy to tell (by increased CPM) that there was radon in an environment such as a basement? Thanks for your time!

Radon is primarily an alpha emitter, so it would be difficult to detect with this Geiger counter kit. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radon)

You might be able to detect the decay products that emit beta and gamma radiation, but the sensitivity will be relatively poor when compared to an alpha detector.
