Are there any suggestions for those of us not fortunate enough to have a woodshop handy?

Originally, I wanted to gut an old AM/FM table radio and stick the WL520gU inside. I still think this would be really cool to do - you could even stick the LCD behind the tuning dial and repurpose the tuning knob to control a potentiometer.
