Put together the Rescue Shield last night an rescued 5 attiny85's. Only 20 or so more to go till I'm even, but love the shield concept and code so I guess I'm even already.
Anyway I noticed the nice work on the SMT's, for the power boost circuit, that came on the board. I assume these were production made and not home done. Can anyone give me a few leads as to what manufactures I can work with to get one of my crazy ideas into production. I would prefer US made but not fanatical about it and am not willing pay a significant premium if there is that drastic of a difference between China and USA.
Great work on the board design. Thanks.
PCB board manufacture
Re: PCB board manufacture
Hi barney,
Actually, I do solder every Rescue Shield PCB by hand! I use a solder paste stencil from OHARARP (http://ohararp.com/Stencils.html) and a custom hot plate that I built. Details about the hot plate are here: http://mightyohm.com/blog/2009/01/diy-p ... -hotplate/
This setup works really well. It's a slow process but the results are worth it, as you can see.
For professional assembly I'm not sure where to go, but I've heard good things about Screaming Circuits.
