wifi radio on digital photo frame ?

Post by gorantz »

First to say hello to all users, I am new here :)

I want to make wifi radio of my digital photo frame Transcend PF 810, is this possible ?
This photo frame have his own usb port so I thought to put in there usb wlan card and get wifi internet access from my wifi router (this router does not have usb port).
If it is possible how can I do it ?

Thank you.

While at first glance you might think this thing has the capabilities to function as an internet radio, it's not that simple. Photoframes, unlike the routers we use here, do not normally use a general purpose CPU that you can use to run something like OpenWrt. This means it is most likely going to be very hard, if at all possible, to get that photoframe to do what you want.

It's not that simple photo frames unlike routers that we use here, do not typically used for general-purpose central processing unit that can be used to run something like Open Wrt. This means that most likely will be very difficult, if possible, to get this photo frame to do what you want.
