Hi!

Thanks for the follow-up. I haven't had a chance through today. I was preparing for a big event this morning. Later today I hope to get back to it.

I really appreciate you looking at my pictures and providing such clear ways to troubleshoot. I'll let you know soon how it goes.

Thanks again and again,

Chad

So it is Q3 that's the problem. I tested it before and after touching up my previous late-night solder job and it's still reading close to 3V. Somewhere in my lab space I have a Mintronics Survival Kit which should have two replacements.

But alas my workshop organization is… chaotic at best.

Since I only need a few I'm going to overpay (Spakrfun) vs. overbuy (Digikey et all) this weekend. I'll let you know when I get the replacement.

Thanks,

Chad

I buy single components from Digikey all the time. First class shipping is the way to go. You can get parts super cheap from them!

Hi,

I was just closing up old browser items and realized I still had this thread open and had never replied.

Once the new transistor came in, I was able to swap it out and have the entire kit up and running again in no time. It works great!

If you are interested, the kit was part of a recent episode of my developing podcast, Verbose Mode TV. I'm including a link below to the episode in question.

Thank you soooooooooo much for your help and for creating such a wonderful device. And even more so, for having such a great forum here for people to communicate.

Sincerely,

Chad
