Hey!
I have one question, which might be answered in post viewtopic.php?f=15&t=562, but not explicitly: is it possible to power the Geiger Counter board over one of the three header sets (Serial, ICSP, or the header set called "Pulse")? I want to incorporate the Geiger Counter into an Arduino-based logger kit (which shall also log other parameters in my home, such as temperature, humidity, light level etc.) - and would love if I could hook up the powering of the Geiger Counter to the Arduino (instead of always using batteries).
Best wishes -
Björn
Is it possible to power the Geiger Counter via the headers?
Re: Is it possible to power the Geiger Counter via the heade
Hello Bjorn!
Yes, you can power the kit with the PULSE header (J6). The pin with a triangle next to it is pin 1, this can be connected to +3VDC. Pin 3 is ground. Note that the power switch won't work if you power the kit through the header.
Also, I recommend removing the batteries any time you use an external power supply, because if you accidentally turn the power switch on, the batteries will be connected directly to the external supply (and could swell or explode).
