Hey, I made a Norwegian translation of the solder comic, and printed it out to the whole apartment of "technicians" at work, they destroy a solder iron tip each week by ramping up the temp. and letting it sit while they think....

I didn't manage to get it down to the original size of your pdf without quality loss, maybe you can give som hints on how you did it? I used the png pictures with no text

Awesome, thanks for doing this!

To get the size down, you need to create the PDF in such a way that text is stored as actual text, and not an image of the text. If you made the translation in a graphics program like Photoshop, this will be pretty much impossible, so you're probably stuck with the big file. We spent a lot of time working to keep the size down, and wound up printing the PDF from Comic Life, the program used to create the comic, instead of from Photoshop etc. That way, the words are stored as text in the PDF file and consume very little space, while the graphics are black and white (2bpp) and compressed as well.

By the way, I added this to the list of translations at http://mightyohm.com/soldercomic

Thanks again, Henrik!
