Re: Installing openwrt without the serial cable

I don't think the 520gU was really intended to supply much power over USB, a bus-powered USB-HD is probably pushing it. Remember that the router was only designed to support a USB printer, which likely requires almost no bus power at all! I don't think I would put more than 5V on the USB port. While...

Need volunteers to build pkg for mpd 0.15.1

There have been several requests to port mpd 0.15.1 to an OpenWrt package for the WL-520gU. mpd 0.15 adds MMS support and a bunch of other stuff (http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=692099&group_id=81117) mpd 0.15.1 is the latest stable release of the Music Player Daemon (htt...

Re: MPD 0.15 and MPC 0.16

Would anyone like to volunteer to attempt this? I am totally swamped at the moment and this may be beyond my Makefile-kung-fu/buildroot abilities anyway.

Re: WL-520gU with 1.5" digital picture frame for display

I have had difficulty finding good information about this process. I was able to stumble through it myself and compile a simple program, but I have not had a chance to document it and now it seems I lost my notes :( . If anyone does know of a good, up to date guide for compiling your own packages on...

Re: LCD Problem - any ideas to troubleshoot?

Sorry this is causing problems. I will go back and see if I can edit the tutorial to be more helpful. The correct fuse settings should be in the Makefile for the project, executing "make fuse" should burn them without too much effort / experimentation required.

Re: Display stations without "Name: "

I guess I have been fortunate not to run across a stream with the name information missing, as I have not seen this problem before. :D Sadly, I'm not aware of a way to "fake" the name that mpc returns. I'll admit that the interface and display scripts are fairly simple, and do not have a b...

Re: How do I upgrade openWRT on the router?

To be able to use the serial port you must have been able to flash my OpenWrt boot image to the router somehow, correct?

Is the problem that you are trying to flash your own custom compiled OpenWrt image and are losing network connectivity after installing it?

Re: AIR light does not turn on (Help)

Awesome, glad you got Wi-Fi working! Sorry to hear you are having problems with some USB adapters. I have only done testing with the SYBA brand USB audio adapter, since it was the cheapest I could find on Newegg. The version of mpd that is included on this site is not compiled with ALSA support, so ...

This is really good to know, and kind of puts a damper on doing much of anything with the GC. 2MB is not very much flash. :(
