Re: little clicks and pops
Success! I can happily say that using the latest trunk of Backfire (snapshots 11-April-2011) and using ALSA output driver, I have high quality, clean audio on my ASUS WL_520GU. No clicks and pops. Finally! A brief description of the setup: NFS server with FLAC library >> MPD on ASUS WL-520GU (Openwr...

Re: little clicks and pops
Yes, I can confirm the above behaviour as well Jeff. So I suppose that is important to note: this only happens when decoding 'high quality' information. I am trying to play FLAC's only. As this is the point of my dream machine: a high-end music player. When I stream internet radio it is fine and ver...

Re: little clicks and pops
I have the same problem with clicks and pops on my WL-520GU. Very frustrating considering everything else is working so well. My goal is also a high-end network audio player. The compact WL-520gu and its low power consumption means I can fit this nicely into a little chassis and run it with my DIY v...

Re: Automount NFS drive?
Thank you.
It works a treat! Now I have mpd running and waiting for my commands everytime I power on.
AWESOME!

Re: Automount NFS drive?
OK, sounds promising.
I don't mind a workaround if thats what it takes.
Could you post an example?
Thanks for your reply.

Re: 8.09 + mpd/mpc + NFS
I came to a workable solution: - Gave up on trying to configure NFS server on WinXP - Created a network drive using my old Asus-wl500g and x-wrt (just because its so easy) - Can now use NFS drive as music database, and easily transfer music to it using samba. - Happily listening right now! Thanks fo...

Re: 8.09 + mpd/mpc + NFS
To clarify what I am trying to do: Objective is to mount an NFS share from windows XP on Asus wl-520GU. Use it as music directory for MPD. Whenever I try to get MPD to start, with /mnt/media as its music directory i get: cannot open music_directory "/mnt/media/" (config line 5): Permission...

Re: 8.09 + mpd/mpc + NFS
I now have a windows folder (and subfolders) mounted and being read by mpd/mpc. Tozmo: I am trying to do the same with an NFS shared folder from windows xp. Keep getting 'access denied'/permissions errors when attempting to get mpd to look at "/mnt/media" as its music directory. Am I miss...
