Re: Is Lead-210 a good test source?
From my quick research, Pb-210 is primarily a beta emitter. The problem may be that the energy of the beta decay is too low to penetrate the tube. I don't have any experience with Pb-210, so I'm not sure. I recommend finding another test source (preferably a gamma emitter): https://mightyohm.com/blo...

Giancarlo, Yes, it is transmitted as text. You can find information about the data logging capability in the usage instructions here: https://mightyohm.com/blog/products/geiger-counter/usage-instructions/ and also in this tutorial: https://mightyohm.com/blog/2012/02/tutorial-geiger-counter-data-logg...

The kit will not work with an ordinary RS-232 serial port! The voltage levels are wrong. You need a USB-serial adapter that works with 3V voltage levels. Some but not all of them do. I use the FTDI USB-serial cable but the Adafruit FTDI friend also works well (set it for 3V!) If you flashed the firm...

What USB-serial adapter are you using? Is it compatible with 3V serial levels? Many of them are, but that could be a source of problems.
