Nope, it should use the broadcom driver. OpenWrt tries to detect the wireless card when it boots for the first time. Maybe something went wrong during that process (Did you wait 5 minutes after flashing before rebooting?). What happens if you try reinstalling?

Re: Progress!
That's funny timing. I just did another install, on a WL-500g Premium this time, and realized I lost the personal TODO I made the last time around. So I started writing a new one. Here's what I have so far (Note that my way requires a formatted USB stick): Install OpenWrt 10.03 (follow instructions ...

Re: Anyone tried the Asus WL-500g?
Is there actually a space between "/root/" and ".mpd"? If so, remove that in the config file (/etc/mpd.conf) and try again.

Re: Anyone tried the Asus WL-500g?
I use the WL-500G for this purpose all the time, but I have never used the firmware from this website. So while I can attest to the suitability of the 500G for this type of project, I can't help you with the specifics of your problem here. One thing you could do is to try and get the same packages f...

Re: Minecraft Server
Not sure what this has to do with the internet radio project, but no, it doesn't look like a router has sufficient resources to run a minecraft server, which seems to be a rather memory hungry app. Don't forget, these routers we're using only have, maybe, 32 megs of RAM.

Re: wifi radio on digital photo frame ?
While at first glance you might think this thing has the capabilities to function as an internet radio, it's not that simple. Photoframes, unlike the routers we use here, do not normally use a general purpose CPU that you can use to run something like OpenWrt. This means it is most likely going to b...

Just to be sure, can you try and get the sound dongle to work with your desktop/laptop?

Re: alternatives to the WL-520gU
Netgear has a new model out (DGND3700) that seems promising. Dual core 400 MHz processor, gigabit lan, 2.4 + 5 GHz channels and 128 MB flash memory. No support for OpenWRT or DD-WRT yet, but hopefully this will materialize before long: http://www.myopenrouter.com/article/24912/Quick-Review-and-Specs...

Re: interface.sh not starting at boot
Looks like you emptied your mpd script, as it's 0 bytes in size. This has nothing to do with the chmod action.

That looks awesome! Is that a wooden enclosure? How did you make it?
