Re: MightyOhm vs. Radex (measuring CPS/CPM)

Hirsch, this is just to back Jeff's answer because he really deserves credit and support for making such a good product. I both own a Medicom counter and a MightyOhm kit. I can say that although, as you might expect, the Medicom counter is more sensitive, with a conversion factor of 0.057 I get abso...

Project completed, but...

Hi, my project is mostly completed, see the low res picture taken with my phone. This is meant to be kept in my mother's in law garden (in Fukushima - Japan) and generate a feed in Pachube, just like this other feed that I am generating (https://pachube.com/feeds/41012). My other Geiger device is an...

Re: Strange misbehavior using Atmel AVRISP mkII In-System Pr

...just out of desperation I tried to reflow solder on both the piezo and the FTDI header and now both work!!!!!

Thanks for you help, the fuse idea made sense, but in the end was just another case of poor soldering skills.

Cheers,
Luca

Re: Strange misbehavior using Atmel AVRISP mkII In-System Pr

Hi, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this command: avrdude -c avrispmkII -P usb -p attiny2313 -v returned this: avrdude: Device signature = 0x1e910a avrdude: safemode: lfuse reads as EE avrdude: safemode: hfuse reads as DD avrdude: safemode: efuse reads as FF So looks like fuses are all right. An...

Strange misbehavior using Atmel AVRISP mkII In-System Progra

Hi, I know this is strange and this could even be just an ATtiny2313 question rather than a GeigerKit question, but bear with me and let me explain my problem. Prologue: 1) I assembled my kit 2) Worked fine 3) Could see it logging data by attaching an FTDI Basic Breakout - 3.3V (http://www.sparkfun....

VR1 regulation

Hi, I have assembled the kit and it was fun and works well. I just have a question about the VR1 variable resistor. I turned the screw all the way to the left, turned on the kit and started to hear clicks and see the LED blinking right away without having to turn the screw. I anyway turned it 45 deg...
