Re: Any Pancake GM Tubes used with MightyOhm Gieger kit?
Having gotten ahold of one of those Atomic Dave pancake mounting kits at eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221258613381?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I see it came with a 4.7-MOhm resistor for the anode... looking around it seems some kits don't need the resistor, some do - woul...

Re: Using Bluetooth on MightyOhm Geiger Counter?
hmmm- so let me ask, what might be a better battery source for BOTH the Counter, and siphoning off 5vdc for the Bluetooth - 4 x AAA or AA holder (the biggest that fits in my box, and attach a TO-220 style 7805 voltage regulator, and pull off 5 VDC for BOTH the counter and the BT (ie, will the counte...

Re: Mine: HV low, then Stopped working- Help Thanks!
Hmm - while waiting for feedback - I went to the Shack and got some components I could find (transistors Q2, Q3, and the 555)... I found the problem I think.... I replaced U1 and nothing changed. So I desoldered Q3 out first, and replaced it - and voila - the board now seems to work.... (I left Q2 a...

I got ahold of my Fluke 45 (http://www.testequity.com/documents/pdf/fluke45.pdf a not terribly cheap VMM but seems still 1MOhm impedance?) and tested the voltages as described in http://www.mightyohm.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3358&start=10#p5489 I get these values with ground to Pin3 of...

Using Bluetooth on MightyOhm Geiger Counter?
Hi all - I have one of these little guys: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-Serial-4-Pin-Bluetooth-RF-Transceiver-Module-Backplane-RS232-F-Arduino?item=261024370087&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D53954945729866421#ht...

Any Pancake GM Tubes used with MightyOhm Gieger kit?
Hi all - I have been considering (once I get the PCB to behave) using a LND 7317 SI-8 (CI-8), or SBT-11A pancake tube... I hear the 7317 is the best (http://www.lndinc.com/products/17/), and the SBT-11 (http://www.sovtube.com/en/x-ray-and-geiger-tubes/610-sbt-11.html) is the best for the money at ha...

Mine: HV low, then Stopped working- Help Thanks!
After getting this kit some time ago, I got some post surgery time to put it together... My kit seemed to work great, if not a little anemic on detection of Uranitite's emissions.... So I checked TP2 to Ground using my Fluke T5-600... (not the ideal VMM per https://www1.elfa.se/data1/wwwroot/assets/...
