Re: Powering Multiple Units

I've done this before and haven't had an issue. It should work fine. It's possible that you are detecting cosmic rays that are triggering more than one tube at a time, although if the tubes are far separated this is unlikely.

Re: Feedback first assembly.

This is great feedback and should help folks trying to source replacement parts locally. Thank you very much!

Re: Geiger Counter IoT

Bob, This is actually somewhat challenging to do because the high voltage supply is not capable of delivering much current to a load. The high voltage power supply is fine for powering a geiger tube, but probably would not be able to supply enough current to a voltage divider and an ADC. It's someth...

Re: voltage problem Geiger Counter

That all sounds fine. If I measure the HV test point with my Fluke 87 V alone (no resistor), I measure about 215V. This is when VR1 is properly adjusted for 400V as measured with a Gigaohm resistor in series with the DMM.

Re: Replacement Tube / Arrived Damaged

It takes quite a bit of force to break the wire, so it should be easy to fix. Let me know if you have any other problems and I hope you enjoy your kit!

Re: Replacement Tube / Arrived Damaged

Brenton, Sorry to hear that! The end caps do separate from the body of the tube occasionally. If the wire soldered to the end cap is still connected, the end cap can be pushed back on and superglued in place. You can also contact Adafruit support. In most cases they will arrange for a replacement tu...

It sounds like your DNS server settings are not working. Check the address of your nameserver in part 4.

Re: No signal from my geiger tube

Check out my Geiger counter kit: http://mightyohm.com/geiger I sell a minimal version of the kit that includes a high quality PCB and all electronic components needed to build the kit. You can supply your own case and SI-3BG, SI-1G, SBM-20 or CTS-5 Geiger tube. It would be useful to have this kit as...
