Re: Looking for feedback...

Joe,

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you are enjoying your kit. Sorry about the missing push button.

If anyone else is missing parts, please contact me - I can usually mail replacement parts within a day or two. I try to ensure all parts are included in every kit, but mistakes occasionally happen.

kin1988 - This forum is intended to support my DIY Geiger Counter kit: http://mightyohm.com/geiger If you purchase a kit I can provide better support. You might be dealing with an EMI problem - have you tried cleaning up your wiring and routing your multimeter lines far away from the Arduino? Withou...

Re: Trying to figure out the right Speaker

Earl -

Sorry for the late reply, I've been traveling these past few days.

The speaker is TDK PS1740P02E. Other piezo speakers with similar pin spacing (10mm) should also work!

Re: Trying to figure out the right Speaker

Earl,

A piezo speaker should have been included in your kit. Where did you purchase the kit?

Re: the geiger poti has no effect

Hi Didi, Those gas lamp mantles are not always radioactive. In fact, in the US it has become hard to find the radioactive mantles since the 1990s. It sounds like your kit is working normally. The pot does not have much effect. Adjust it to about 1/3 to 1/2 way up the dial. See if you can find some o...

Re: converting Becquerel to microsievert

uSv is calculated using a conversion factor baked into the firmware. The conversion factor converts CPM to uSv/hr.
I don't have much additional information - the conversion factor is typically provided by the geiger tube manufacturer.

Re: Does it work with the ATtiny861A

It looks like the ATtiny861A uses a slightly different pinout for HVPP. As a result, the existing sketch won't work without modification.

Did you purchase a kit? If so, email your order details to support@mightyohm.com and let's work together on getting this working for you.
