Re: Strange noise with Ludlum 44-9 and Uranyl Nitrate

I'm not familiar with that geiger counter, but it does sound like there is some electrical noise inside the device that is making the sound, probably related to the high voltage supply.

Re: cannot rescue two 328P-PU chips

It seems that the chips are indeed bad. If you'd like, I can double check them on my setup - send me a PM and I can provide a return shipping address.

Re: cannot rescue two 328P-PU chips

Did you change the MEGA variable in the sketch to '1' and recompile/reupload to your Arduino Mega?

Re: Looking for feedback...

If you use the Rescue Shield with an Arduino Mega, make sure you edit this line in the sketch and change the 0 to a 1, then recompile and upload to the Arduino. Make sure there is no chip in the socket when you upload or run the sketch! // User defined settings #define MEGA 0 // Set this to 1 if you...

Re: cannot rescue two 328P-PU chips

Are you able to reset the fuses with the rescue shield? What happens when you try to set the default values (0x62 0xDF)?

I've seen chips like your chip 2 before - once the device signature is corrupted the part is usually not recoverable.

Berj - That is a great article. Thanks for sharing the details of retuning crystals. I never realized that the crystal was just clamped in place in the old style housings!

Re: Upgrading MPD required for AAC stream format?

I don't think it's a given that a newer version of mpd can't be made to work on the router. That said, I have not tried compiling code for this router in several years, so I'm not sure what the current state of openwrt is. I suspect it would be a difficult project but might be doable with enough kno...
