Re: How to compile MPD with extras enabled?
No point trying to get something working on OpenWrt that isn't yet complete, and therefor can never work. Just my 2 cents. Yeah, that seems resonable. However there aren't any conclusive fact that so is the case. Most posts I find regarding sidplay is several years old and they talk about this and ...

Re: How to compile MPD with extras enabled?
So I am not the only one with a clearly visible learning curve then. Good to know. I am just happy I managed to make a self-booting-audio-playing-stand-alone-radio-device out of the router it started out as. So far it is me 1 and reality 0. But all those extra plugins in the MPD makefile just waitin...

How to compile MPD with extras enabled?
A long story very very short. I set out to hack an ASUS WL500gp v2 into a radio. I specifically chose the wl500g premium as it has double flash capacity compared to the one in the tutorial. I want to build this radio and give it as a gift to my elderly neighbor who want to listen to BBC World Servic...

Re: Adding an infrared remote: lirc + mic input
I see. Thank you for answering fast even though I dig around in long gone threads.I'll try according to the wiki then. Lets say I break my remote or find a better one. Can I recompile lirc as a single package and install on the router from an USB key or whatever using opkg? It would suck to have to ...

Re: Adding an infrared remote: lirc + mic input
Sorry to dig upp this post. But it is along the theme of my question so instead of posting a new thread, I post here. So... What did you do for lirc to show up in menuconfig? I am trying to compile backfire with lirc. Alsalib, alsa-utils and of course lirc are all installed, but lirc doesn't show up...

Re: Problem with the serial connection to wl-500gp v2
It was a total success. I replaced a faulty capacitor in the PSU (wall wart) according to this post . I too couldn't find the exact match on the value of the capacitor so I used an 1500uF 16V I got from an old dead PC motherboard. Now I am currently watching the boot messages of the router in a Putt...

Re: Problem with the serial connection to wl-500gp v2
I second what Dija writes above. I got an Asus WL-500gP V2. I got myself an ftdi ttl-232-3v3 cable and got to work according to the steps in tutorial series. Sadly it seems the ftdi cable prevent the router from booting while its connected. If I then unplug the router remove the ftdi cable and plug ...
